June 23, 2025, marked the 40th anniversary of the Air India Flight 182 bombing. Although this event has been described as the largest mass murder in Canadian history, the tragedy and its aftermath remain little known and seldom remembered in our national consciousness.
As this anniversary year draws to a close, we invite you to join us for Flight 182 @ 40: Remembering the 1985 Bombing in Film. Featuring screenings of Calorie (2025) by Eisha Marjara and Oscar-qualifying Flight 182 (2025) by Rippin Sindher, this event will bring together film, reflection, and conversation to honour the victims of the tragedy and explore its ongoing impact.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to tour the Air India Flight 182 Archive, with materials housed in Mills Memorial Library. Free to register. All are welcome to attend. Refreshments and a catered lunch will be provided. Sponsored by the John Douglas Taylor Conference Fund.
